I'm Ian Kemp
I design expressive product experiences where interaction, motion, and visual languages work together to create clarity, emotion, and intention. I lead with a clear experiential vision, imagining how the platform should feel when it’s working at its best and work backwards to ensure each phase is intentional.
I’m most effective in environments that value taste, craft, and thoughtful decision making. Where design is trusted to shape how a product feels, not just how it functions and where experience quality is treated as core product logic.

My approach to creating products that are visually compelling and meticulously crafted
The combination of my passion for creativity, culture and challenging the status quo positions me in a unique place to deliver results.
The Breakdown
I start by breaking down the problem into smaller parts. This helps in understanding the core components and identifying areas for improvement.
Diverge
This is where lateral thinking comes into play. This is spontaneous a free flowing approach where I’ll explore a wide range concepts, from blue sky concepts to more grounded concepts.
Converge
In the converge step, I’ll focus on narrowing down the options with considerations such as feasibility, usability, business goals and technical constraints
Refinement
This involves further articulating the unique value proposition and characteristics of the designs. This helps to drive distinction and highlighting individual strengths to ensure the product feels cohesive.
Prototyping
I use prototyping not just for testing but also as a way to explore and refine ideas. By physically using the product, this sparks new insights, reveals interaction challenges and potentially reveals new opportunities.
Feedback
This step involves seeking feedback from peers and stakeholders throughout the process. This helps draw attention to specific areas of focus to help provide clarity and finding the best solution.
Iterate
Design is rarely a linear process. I embrace iteration, constantly learning from feedback and adapting the design to arrive at the most effective and creative solution within the given constraints.
